What Treatment at St. Christopher's Costs

There is no single price for addiction treatment, because there is no single course of treatment. Costs depend on the level of care, the length of stay your recovery actually requires, and what your insurance covers.

What we can promise is financial transparency: before you commit to anything, our admissions team will give you a clear picture of costs, coverage, and options — in plain language, with no pressure.

Paying With Insurance

St. Christopher's works with most major commercial insurance providers for addiction treatment services including medical detox, residential treatment, intensive outpatient programming, extended care, and co-occurring disorder treatment. While we cannot guarantee coverage without verification, most clients find that their insurance covers a meaningful portion of the cost of care.

Most major insurance plans are required under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act to provide coverage for substance use disorder treatment at levels comparable to other medical conditions. Coverage varies significantly by plan, which is why we verify benefits individually for every client before admission.

Verification is free, confidential, and carries no obligation. Start on our insurance verification page or call us any hour.

Out-of-Network Coverage

If St. Christopher's is not in-network with your plan, that is not necessarily the end of the conversation. Many commercial plans include out-of-network benefits for behavioral health care — typically with a separate deductible and a different reimbursement rate. When our admissions team verifies your benefits, we check both your in-network and out-of-network coverage and explain exactly what each would mean for your out-of-pocket costs.

Single-Case Agreements

In some situations, an insurance plan will negotiate a one-time agreement with an out-of-network provider — called a single-case agreement — that covers a specific client's treatment at negotiated terms, most often when the plan lacks a comparable in-network option. Whether a plan will consider one is decided case by case by the insurer. If it is a possibility for your situation, our admissions team can tell you what the process involves when they review your benefits.

Private Pay

Some families pay for treatment directly, whether because a plan does not cover the recommended level of care, because they prefer not to involve insurance, or because there is no active coverage. If you are considering private pay, call our admissions team: they will lay out what the recommended course of treatment would involve and what it would cost before you make any decisions.

Treatment financing options are also available through MyTreatmentLender.com for qualified clients.

Facing Financial Hardship?

We’re also proud to offer support through our Second Chance Foundation, which helps qualified clients receive the care they need even if they face financial hardship.

If cost is the thing standing between you or your loved one and treatment, say so when you call. It is a conversation our team has every day.
