Getting to St. Christopher's

Many of the men we treat come to Baton Rouge from outside Louisiana, and many families plan visits around treatment. A few things worth knowing before you travel:

Admission can move quickly. In many cases, same-day or next-day admission is possible. The speed of admission depends on bed availability and the insurance verification process. Call before you book travel — our admissions team can help you time the trip.

Visitation is part of the clinical plan. Visitation and passes are incorporated into treatment as a client progresses, increasing in duration and frequency as their clinical team determines they are prepared. For families who live out of state or cannot travel, virtual communication options are available.

Long-Term Recovery visitation. For clients in our Long-Term Recovery Program, in-person visitation is available on Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM with counselor approval.

You do not have to travel to stay involved. Weekly family support and psychoeducation groups are held virtually, making them accessible to families across Louisiana and beyond who cannot travel to Baton Rouge regularly. Individual family consultations are available by Zoom or phone.
