The Chapters of Recovery
Long-Term by Design
Recovery can't be rushed. Our continuum of care was intentionally built to support meaningful change over time, helping clients develop the skills, relationships, and stability needed for lifelong recovery.
Rather than moving clients through disconnected programs, we guide them through a structured progression of care that evolves as they grow. Each Chapter builds on the one before it, combining clinical treatment, accountability, life skills, community integration, and ongoing support. Most men spend between 90 days and 8 months with us — treatment length is determined by clinical progress, not an arbitrary calendar.
It's one recovery journey — designed to support meaningful change at every stage.
Chapter One: Tenacity
The first chapter is dedicated to stabilization, healing, and building a strong foundation for recovery. Through immersive clinical care, trauma-informed treatment, and the support of a structured recovery community, clients begin the work of understanding themselves and creating lasting change.
Chapter Two: Excellence
As stability grows, clients begin putting recovery into practice while remaining surrounded by clinical support and accountability. This chapter focuses on developing independence, life skills, healthy relationships, and the confidence to navigate everyday challenges without sacrificing recovery.
Chapter Three: Passion for Recovery
The final chapter bridges the gap between treatment and independent living. Clients continue strengthening their recovery while embracing greater responsibility, purpose, and connection as they prepare for a life built on long-term sobriety.

The St. Chris Legacy
St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness Center was built on a simple but powerful observation: The people who stay connected, stay engaged, and stay supported are the people who hold onto their recovery.
More than 25 years later, that belief still guides everything that we do.
Over the years, we have grown from a single recovery residence into a comprehensive treatment organization serving individuals and families across multiple levels of care. Still, our mission remains the same: helping people build meaningful, sustainable recovery through connection, structure, accountability, and best-in-class clinical care.

Frequently Asked Questions About Addiction Treatment at St. Christopher's
Why long-term treatment?
Long-term treatment gives people something short-term programs often cannot: the time to practice recovery while life is still happening.
At St. Christopher's, we organize treatment into “Chapters.” In the early chapters, clients focus on stabilization, clinical treatment, and building a strong foundation. As they progress, they gradually take on more responsibility, returning to work or school, developing healthy relationships, managing daily challenges, and learning how to navigate life without returning to old patterns.
The goal is to help men build the skills, habits, accountability, and support system needed to sustain recovery long after treatment ends.
